About Cho Lab
Cho Lab investigates how immune responses within the bone marrow shape hematologic disease. We focus on two questions: how immune cells recognize and eliminate myeloma cells, and how dysregulated myeloid responses sustain inflammation in secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and related syndromes.
We pursue translational research by turning clinical observations into mechanistic questions and bringing laboratory insights back toward patient care. Using longitudinal bone marrow and blood samples, we track immune-cell states across disease and treatment. We combine single-cell profiling with functional studies of primary cells, then evaluate the resulting insights through correlative studies and investigator-initiated trials.
Founded at Yonsei University College of Medicine in 2021, the lab moved to the Seoul National University Cancer Research Institute in September 2025.
Cho Lab is the Translational Hematology and Immunology Laboratory in the Division of Hematology-Oncology at Seoul National University Hospital. Hematologists and full-time research faculty work side by side in a culture grounded in open communication and mutual respect, where every member is encouraged to question, contribute, and grow.
